Weather Conditions and Gym Closing

RCG will open at 1 PM today & all afternoon and evening classes, practices and activities will run as scheduled.

Our ever-changing weather is one of the many reasons we love living in Michigan, right?!

All kidding aside, from time to time, weather conditions make coming to gymnastics unsafe.

Because of our location, we use the Lansing Public Schools when determining whether if is safe for our staff and families to come into the gym.  And, as many times the roadways are clear by early afternoon, closing in the morning doesn't necessarily mean we will be closed in the afternoon.  Our rules for closing RCG are as follows:

  • If Lansing Public Schools are closed for the day, all AM classes and activities, meaning those that start before 1PM, are canceled.

  • If we close for AM classes and activities, announcement regarding afternoon and evening activities will be made by 2 PM.

  • If Lansing Pubic Schools cancel evening activities due to weather we will be closed for the evening as well.

If you haven't registered your email, you can do so by clicking here.

While we may decide to remain open, you may decide that from where you live your drive is too hazardous.  By all means, please do not drive into the gym if you feel it is unsafe!  You can use one of your make ups to replace the class or practice that you miss.

If you miss a class because we are forced to close due to weather, contact the office to arrange a make up class or request a complimentary Open Gym/Play & Learn pass to be used at your convenience.


Holiday Gym Closing

RCG will be closed and no recreational classes will be held on the following dates in 2011 & 2012:

  • 2012 Memorial Day: May 25 - 28, 2012

  • 2012 Independence Day/Summer Break: June 30 - July 8, 2012

  • 2012 Labor Day: August 31 - September 3, 2012

  • 2012 Thanksgiving: November 21 - 25, 2012

  • 2011 Winter Break: December 18, 2011 - January 1, 2012


During our 2011 Winter Break we will host Holiday Family Open Gyms on December 19 and 27, 2011.  These are open to everyone. Click on the Open Gym page link for more information.
